関東国道協会（会長＝小林常良厚木市長）は、11月18日、1都8県5政令指定都市の後援で研修会を開催。会場となった茨城県日立市の日立シビックセンターには、今後の業務に活かそうと関東国道協会会員及び関係団体等324人が詰めかけた。
小林市長は、「必要な道路は後世の時代の皆さんのためにもつくっていく義務と責任は私たちが追っている。新しい時代に向けて、道路の有るべき姿を常に前向きに考え、関東国道協会の皆様と作り上げていきたい」と挨拶をした。
また、開催市である日立市の小川市長は、「この研修会は、今後どのような取組を進めることが、未来を担う子供たちに役立つインフラ整備に繋がるかの道しるべになるもの」と挨拶をした。
研修会は、㈱日立製作所 制御プラットフォーム開発本部長の大橋章宏氏が「スマートシティに向けたＩｏＴの活用事例」と、国土交通省 関東地方整備局 道路企画官の鈴木通仁氏が「道路行政に関する最近の話題」について、２氏による講演が開催された。
次回の開催は、群馬県前橋市となる。
